G'day Forum,

The names Aaron.
I've been posted to Darwin from QLD for the lasy 3 yrs
and i'm new to kayaking.

One of my favourite types of fishing is off the beach land base.
10mins away from my home is beach with all sorts of species,
Pelagics being one of my favourite,
Sometimes there is crazy busts ups just out of casting distance in this particular spot

Which begins my story...

With a tinny being too much of an annoyance
I opted for the middle man

the kayak

I came back from overseas with a picture of buying a big rig for offshore and inshore.
And somehow ended up buying a 2.3m Ocky used for $200 of gumtree 8)

I still go out off shore, up creeks chasing crabs and barra
But I have to admit, i've fallen for the yak.

I didn't launch at East Point, at Lee Pt Beach.

Is there any other fellow kayakers up in the N.T???
Was looking to do the Kathriene Gorge soon .

Man I miss the fishing in NT, that's all I did when I was there, buffalo creek was my fav stop as I could ride there on my doshie before I was legal to drive. Use to hit east alligator barrage a bit too with my old boy.
You must be Army hey, I'm ex Navy, never did a posting up there though.
Great fish, great pics. Super jealous.

Wen't to Kathriene Gorge last Monday
In the hope of catching my first baz from the yak
Well apparently K is for Kathriene and
K is for Katfish
6 in total all on the troll on stump jumpers

Saw a large freshie within the first 30m paddle.
Great scenery no baz

Anyone on here fished Kathriene Gorge and has anyone hooked a barra

Awesome place,
I spent a bit of time fishing the top end mid 2000 and those bloody catfish drove me mad.
