i just wanted to write in and say Hi.
im based in Melbourne and have just purchased a Pamlico 135T that i hope will suite a pleasent paddle with the misses  and more often than not a good bit of fishing :D . I know its not the best water craft for fishing out in the bay ( better suited to rivers and lakes ) but i really want to go out with some of you lads out of Ricketts point ppd etc. I see a few of you guys go out and im keen to join you ( if you dont mind a newbie tag-along  ) sometime in the near future.

anyway, this site is a great read and i can see so much information and some bloody great ideas for rig outfits, fishing spots, fishing trips, fishing tackle fishing fishing fishing. Love it.

Hope to see and meet some of you guys out on the water.

cheers all

Hi Smurf and welcome to the forum. There are a few great estuary systems up that way (Green cape) that would be just spot on for your canoe. Wingan Inlet, is one of my favorites, and just perfect for kayaks and canoes. In fact any tinnie over 3.6 metres would be just about useless for so much of the system. Heaps of fish species there too, with my favorite being whopper flatties. 83cm is my best so far but a mate had one up to his yak 5 times before being snapped off that easily went over 120cm. Good luck. Steve.
