Hi all, new to the kayak fishing scene. Found this great website and thought i would join to get and give advice. Im situated in Mentone, Vic. Went out for the first time on the yak last weekend and got onto a salmon school, finished up with 2 salmon @ approx 500 grams and 1kg and didnt fall off my yak! Ayways i think im hooked for life.
Ive done alot of fishing from beaumaris pier, caught pinkies ranging from 20 cm up to 55cm and alot of southern calamari squid (and one at the 2 kg mark). Also done quite a bit of fishing off sorrento (on a boat) for snapper, whiting etc.

Many more pics. Barracouta, salmon, pinkies, whiting etc. but on my parents laptop. My dad bought a kayak so i just bout a few rod holders. Its a spirit but not sure what make, but is very sturdy and approx 4 metres. Have tried spear fishing in the past and have seen leatherjackets at approx 40 cm in plague proportions about 200 metres to the left of beaumaris pier on numerous occasions. So am thinking of giving that a try on the weekend. Then maybe go out about 300 metres off tablerock for sp fishing for pinkies.
