I've noticed on some of the pics of your kayaks some of you have mounted pvc tubes or the like in there.

What purpose do these serve?

Just lift the reels higher away from the water Sel, just inserted loose and removable for transporting the kayak or when mot required in place

Just as Dodge says Sel, lifts the reels higher up off the water. Also you can make up different shaped ones to do different jobs. Bent 45 degree ones for trolling, straight ones for general use, and even rocket launcher style for carting all manner of stuff. All install in existing flush mounts. And did I mention CHEAP ! Steve.
