here are the pics Sam60 (shane) promised from our trip to North East river on 25/7 .... dont worry about the wrong date on the card I had a blonde moment. For a change shane landed the biggest of the day but I landed the first one. The day was windy and a bit choppy for my likes but it was better than staying home.. 4 each for the day was the score and shane lost a small one but did not touch it so was not counted. The trip back to the car was slow and we dragged the "queen" the last 100 metres or so ....well Shane did due to the shallow water he needed the exercise

Hey Kat

Great work by the looks, they are some nice fat *****'s, just remember it isn't who cathces the biggest fish but who catches the first fish that counts.

Flinders Island is a fishing paradise, I wish I was there 8)

Gatesy, the stipulation to claim a fish is the fish has to be either netted or held to remove the hook. If one of us catches a fish and manage to get it into the yak but it jumps out it is a lost fish, we now use a net to reduce losses. When the salmon are running we practice C & R on most fish and until Kathy learns how to unhook a fish I will be busy unhooking hers  . The good thing about North East river is when the tide drops you can land the kayak on sandbanks on the opposite shore and fish from there and have the bank to yourself.
