Finally able to post some pics of my girl. Nearly done now fitout wise, rather than buy a light that I need to wire to my sounder battery, I intend at this stage to buy a Scotty's Sea Light, that uses 2 AA batteries. Will also install another flushmount forward of my seated position and when the outrigger from Hobie is available here, I will also buy and install for even more stability.

I am very happy with the Ram mount I purchased to mount my Humminbird Matrix 17 sounder. Easily fitted and removed, and gives me some options as to position of sounder as it can swivel.

As for battery, I stole this idea from Jake, and the sealed box makes everything watertight. I just place box in plastic bag and sit it on shelf below deck. When battery needs charging, I simply plug 2 banana plugs into the speaker binding posts shown on box, and hook up my charger.

Unfortunately, due to the change in ownership of this web site and the lack of response by the owners to my requests to remove my email address from all administrative-level notifications and functionality, I have decided to remove my posts on AKFF. Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. If you are desperate for the old content of this particular post, it is available below base64 encoded and bzip2 compressed.

Looks great, and what a bonus of seeing another Sport being fitted out, as it gives me more ideas for my own. :D

You mentioned downriggers. I bought a small one at Cabelas on a recent trip to the states. Much to my delight, the type I got (an Atwood) fits into the flush mount rod holder that came with the Sports's fishing package.

I don't really see any room for another rodholder up front so I'll probably either position the downrigger rod in the back or just hold it when I am trolling. But not having to put another mount for the downrigger is a real bonus :)

Nice ride FT
Where did you get your ram mount and roughly what $. Dealers here in Vic are hard to come by.
Ram mount cost me $80, and I just ordered through a local marine outlet here in Brisbane.

Heres a link to the Ram mob
