I got an early christmas present yesterday. Was in at work having a usual sort of day just waiting for 3.30 knock off, when the shop foreman comes to me and says that i am needed in the office. So off i go thinking nothing of it, when i get there the boss says that they deciced this would be a good time to cut me free and send me on my way. So basically I was shafted and sent on my way with his last remark being "Have a good christmas". But i suppose on the up side i can go fishing for a few weeks before christmas now, after i do the rounds and see if i can drum up some work.

What a shitty time for an employer to pull that... and to have the ordasity to say have a good Xmas while doing it. These things always seem to work out though. Chances are always good you'll find yourself in a better job in no time, and will be glad it happened the way it did.

Amazing how the employers now seem to have more rights than ever before. Even today I was watching closely whether the Big Red Roo was going to be screwed over by some fat Texan and an assortment of smaller companies, squabbling over the crumbs of our national airline. What sorry times we are in. Guaranteed if the sale goes through we will have very little left of our IR laws, and the corporate locusts will fly away, full of food, to devastate another company crop. And the workers will again be second class citizens.

bad luck mate, im in hervey bay so if you want a fish im good for it only new here so dont have any kayak fishing mates. Im good for most weekends and got a couple of weeks off from the 1-1-07. i got a mate coming up from brisbane and have planed a trip from boat harbour to big woody to mackenzies jetty then back to river heads should be great trolling all the way over 3 days, about 30k's in total. if your keen give us a yell the more the merrier. anyway good luck with the job hunting
