hey guys,

i am chasing some drip rings for my paddle,
i have tried the boatshed in currumbin, anaconda and spoke with the guy from feelfree. No one seems to have these and just use the excuse that they are meant to come with the paddle.

has anyone seen these available,

the guys from the boat shed said it wrap electrical tape around and around until its about 1/2 inch high. Apparently this will do the same thing.

any ideas.

Mine came with the paddle (Sevlor), but I have to say they dont seem to stop the watter dripping down too much.....I am sure they are doing something.....maybe just dripping the water on my shoulder instead of down my hands.....the water has to go somehwere.

Maybe try the tape idea and see how that goes, in theory it should do the same thing.

I reckon the tape idea would work - the idea being that the water running down your paddle from the blades (towards your hands) will hit the drip ring/tape and drip off before getting to your hands. I have drip rings on my paddle (Canoesports Simply Magic), and only reckon they make a minor difference.

Good question Red. Glad to see someone is thinking. I have the answer and the same problem. I will test it out as we speak. Cut the paddle in two with my trusty little hacksaw, right. Slip the rings on right so far. Then all I have to do is...... Oh bugger, how do I get this bloody thing back together again.
Lucky I read ALL of ya post this time before I followed what ya were doing, Occy. I knew NOT to do as you did, not like last time :x .

Hi all,

How do you think it would go, if you bored out a bit of pool noodle with bit of tube, then cut of a couple of slices, then split the made ring and slipped them on. Could that work?......on the paddle that is, not on the body parts, you would look a right drip..drip...

Cheers all, Andybear
