Here are some pics of my look-ma-no-holes approach to kitting out my silent assassin. Not the most obvious thing to fish off but it has made me a better paddler and once you get used to the average layout and scant secondary stability it sure is the sort of yak that you get attached to really fast (Haven't taken my Scupper Pro out in 8 months and I am really fond of her). Goes like a rocket - would guess that for ease of paddling I would need around two thirds as many strokes to keep pace with my Scupper which is no slouch. Unlike the Scupper she has zilch rocker so tuning her sans rudder would be very tedious.
I have removed the small rear hatch entirely to receive a small chilly bin onto which I have attached everything (rods, gaff, flag etc etc). Makes packing up really easy. This is not a boat for the gadget freak as the hatches (though large and watetight) are tough to get to once on the water and the lovely big round central hatch is at water level if the cockpit gets swamped or you forget to close the venturi valve when you stop.....
