Yeah, the windy weather truly sucks and there's been no shortage of it down here in Vic to. T'was like this a few seasons back... everyday, watching the wind, almost everyday being dissapointed. Back then I was using an inflatable kayak (only had a motorbike to transport it) and wind was much more of an issue with that, as you can probably imagine.

Fortunately for me and my main yak fishing buddy, we both work for ourselves from home and can get up and go almost whenever we feel like it, so even though the weather has been prety shitty on a regular basis, we're still getting out 2 - 3 times a week. Most of those trips aren't planned - they usually start with one of us sending a message with the word 'keen?' We're both using Hobies to, so the wind doesn't bother us all that much. It takes 20+ knot winds to make us think twice.

Yeah, pretty much the same sentiment. Murpheys graph creep is to blame some of the time. Just to be different, this time it has shown the wind to be a shitty weekend pretty much consistently. I was hoping to introduce a 12 year old to some yak fishing this coming weekend, looks a lot like I will be the no.1 earhole or something when I say no because the wind is too strong. I was going to introduce her to my very very old TK1, but on the grounds, that I must be confident to tow her if she gets tired that pretty much assures me that wind of more than 10kts will be a bit much.
Still, I might make ready just in case there is a window of opportunity

Cheers all Andybear

October produced one good thing at least...me :) It's my 30th in 11 days. Maybe I should put up my kayak fishing wish list so you can all buy me presents ;)

Yeah but Gav, If your birthday is in 11 days, that's LATE October as opposed to NOW October.

Everyone knows that NOW October is a pain in the arse. If these winds continue through to LATE October we are well within our rights to blame YOU for the bad winds this month.

If the winds settle by LATE October, we will thank you and never question your good judgement again. We will also wish you a very happy birthday.

Do ya need me to send Tugboat up for you next year.

Tell us though mate, did you have a SX40 out the back during the clean up.

Seriously though well done for your efforts in helping with the environmental side of our sport.

3 cheers to you.
