I have caught a lot of wrasse over a long period of time and was looking up some info and found that I have apparently been using the incorrect name for these two species... The photo ID pages should make it easy but only if you are looking in the right place...

The second one is what I have always referred to as a maori wrasse and it comes up inn a google search but I was having trouble working through the line drawings in the keys to identification... The first one turns up with a few different colour variations that I have not been able to find including a big fellow with a large red diagonal sash down its body...
