G'day all,
I'm new to Kayaking and a keen shore-based fisho looking to reach out a little further than i can cast.
I came across this forum while researching a suitable kayak and have found it an invaluable source of info. I especially like the Sticky page with links to everything I've been looking for, it has answered most of my questions and I can see I'm in the company of some very experienced people here.
I look forward to getting started in this sport, learning from you fellas and hopefully contributing with my own experiences in the near future.
Either that or I'll get blown out to sea first time out and you'll never hear from me again

Unfortunately, due to the change in ownership of this web site and the lack of response by the owners to my requests to remove my email address from all administrative-level notifications and functionality, I have decided to remove my posts on AKFF. Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. If you are desperate for the old content of this particular post, it is available below base64 encoded and bzip2 compressed.

Red.

Thanks for the welcomes fellas, I have posted in the "Which kayak for me" forum with my Yak choices but I'm looking at a secondhand Cobra Tourer as a first boat. It has the legroom I need and comes with a good lightweight paddle, leash, anchor and rod holder for $900 so I'm thinking it could be the go.
I've posted more details under "Buying a secondhand Cobra Tourer".

Gidday Nod and welcome. :D

I myself only joined this forum earlier this year, now have a yak, and slowly fitting it out.

There are some great folk with loads of experience in all things kayak here who will answer all your questions, so don't be backwards in coming forward.

And good luck with your yak selection.

cya around the forums.

Chris
