A quick Gday to my folks also saw me having a yak crack to the west of Port Phillip, over at Clifton Springs just out of Geelong. This area is Mushi's backyard, so a bit of homework had me thinking some decent snapper may have turned up around the shipping channel or mussel farm. Not to be unfortunately, old long face took a Thunderstick and several small pinkies wanted a piece of my Deep Husky Jerk presenting at 6m down...but no reds were to be. I thought I'd run into Occy in his Hobie again, but it was another sleeping seal. This fella didn't bugger off when I woke him, instead he wanted to play and with the fishing a bit slack I obliged. The channel markers had me looking for mussels, but what I found were too small, so it was snook for a feed (I'd tried to put her back but she floated after wrapping herslef in braid). With ice, a fillet, skin off and rib cage cut away I think I found a new appreciation for em on the plate...although I reckon I can hear the jeers  :D

Skin off Squid's, she came up a bit like some of those English type fish...is it Haddock or Hake? And the last one Hobie Vic suggested Thai fishcakes and they won my heart. Snook, the cheap bastards Barramundi :!:

Peril, if you cast a beedy over this too mate I finally put a GPS over my speed...a sure bet for the Melb Cup at 2.5 to 3km an hour on the trollometer :D

Hiya Paffoh, I use a Kodak DX7590...not waterproof so it gets double dry bagged and I carry a towel to wipe the hands off. There's days when I don't break it out onwater...and I also stow it in the rear hatch. :D

Maaate , the inner harbor is the place to be for the really good snapper at the mo. Or if in the outer the turn, the chair , nine foot bank and along the edge of the channel and Alcoa for king fish.
