There was discussion about this dam a while back, has anyone been there in recent times? I will be up that way next week and plan to give it a go. That area has been getting some rain so hopefully there will be enough water to float the Viking Fisherman.

regards

Heya Guy,

I have been there a few times, but never for a serious fish as yet :)

Clarrie Halls sits at around 100% almost all year round so you wont have any problems with water levels. I was down there a couple of weeks ago for a picnic with mywife and the water levels were at 100%.

It has become a more challenging fishery in recent years with lower catch rates than in previous years. But still some good fishing to be had from what I gather :)

You wont find a more picturesqe dam to kayak anywhere though :) its gorgeous.

I've been meaning to get down there myself for a fish, but yakkin time has been hard to come by lately due to work and family commitments. My yak has not seen water since the Big W trip, which must be 6 or 7 weeks ago now :(

Hi Guy,

With all the rain we've had recently there's stacks of water in the dam. I've never fished it but was determined to give those bass or perch a go at some stage soon.

Count me in. I'd like to try the freshwater. PM to arrange.

Dallas
thanks for the info, sounds a great place for a paddle
My yak hasn't seen the water in months but after joining this forum I am inspired to get it out on my holidays while the women go shopping :)
I have rigged up a loading bar, carrying handles and now put in a sounder so there are no excuses

will report back after the trip
