Hi Guys,

My yak is a bit different from most of the ones on the site. It's a Current Design Pacifica. Had it for about 2 years now. The guy before me had installed some very dodgey rod holders behind the cockpit, so that was the first thing I changed. Still dodgey, but not quite as bad. What's missing from photo is the rear ones also have an insert of poly pipe in each slot.

The front holders/sounder mounting rig was stolen from several examples here. I'd always wanted something in front of me as it was a pain reaching behind all the time, but I'd been putting off drilling holes to mount the Berkley holder for about 12 months. Then I found this site and saw Reds setup. Perfect I thought. From having to drill 11 holes, to just 2 with this setup (made use of the rudder pedal holes). Only thing left to do is actually wire up the sounder. I re-wired my ute from a bare shell, so this shouldn't take long. Transducer's on the rudder.

I'm based in South Turra and my home waters are Lane Cove River and Bobbin Head.

Good stuff, Clarkos. With forward rodholders it is so much easier to handle the rods and keep an eye on them. What do ya reckon you'll catch first?

Thanks guys. Going for a Bass trip on Monday so hopefully a bass. Basically I want to give the setup a bit of a strength test first up to make sure it's all going to hold together. Only so much you can do on the lawn.

The holders at the back are great for storing rods, but I found with trolling, the lines were too close together, and you couldn't see what was going on.

What would we do without poly pipe? :D

Here's a few new bits. Nothing too special.

Battery box which sits behind the seat. Will add an extra plug for a night light soon.

With my rod holder/sounder bar, you can see I've added some rod leashes. They are attached to the bungy cord, so plenty of flex. They have a little dog clip on the end which clips onto a split ring I've attached to the rods. Stole the idea from Doug I think. Thanks.

Transducer is attached to the rudder. Have to upgrade the screws to stainless me thinks.

Sure is Jay.

Got a fairly decent bonus a year or two ago, and managed to hide a few dollars before the mrs spent it all.

Added a nav light. As Davey G posted, the normal bulbs don't throw a lot of light, so upgraded the bulb to an led version sourced from ebay. Very bright now.

Have also added a little cockpit light. Throws just enough light out to light up the cockpit, but that's about it.

Added some switches and fuses to the battery box, by making adding a little switch box. Velcrows to the box.

Have also attached a little mesh bag to the side of my seat. Allows me to keep my leader, scissors, plyers etc all nice and neat and in easy reach.

I like the idea of the transducer on the rudder mate. Does it work OK
Works well thanks Occy. Only thing is when it's folded up and resting on the deck, it sometimes changes the angle, so if I forget to check before I launch, I get some funny readings.
