I think the Hobie is now paid for.

In order to originally secure it, I had to promise the bank manager to put a deck on the front of the house. I could say that it was foolishness to make such a bargin (given my building skills) but I realllllllly wanted that kayak.

Now it's almost 2 months later, my fingers will never be the same from being bashed with a hammer, but it's done, the wife is happy I am ready to have a real fish in it. :D

Depending on the weather, I am going to have a go around Scotland Island this weekend, as I have a couple of spots there that have been good to me in the past (Kingies, Bream, Trevs and some squid). I don't really want to put in at Bayview as it seems a long way out to get there. (Fitness has yet to be tested) Does anyone know if there is a small beach open to the public at Church point? It looks like one on the UBD map.

Eric, not checked out Church Pt. However don't worry too much about fitness. You can go a long way in those hobies. Will be interested to see how you go? When you get braver, I've had success getting squid around Currawong and also the Eastern shore, south of Careel Bay. Haven't managed any kings though

Unfortunately, due to the change in ownership of this web site and the lack of response by the owners to my requests to remove my email address from all administrative-level notifications and functionality, I have decided to remove my posts on AKFF. Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. If you are desperate for the old content of this particular post, it is available below base64 encoded and bzip2 compressed.

Thanks Kraley,

Got up this morning at 4:30, very windy, and some light drizzle.

Went back to bed and got back up at 6:00 am with intention of trying Bobbin Head (10 minutes from me) but the rain was more steady. Just ain't fair that when I have the time the weather doesn't cooperate.

Maybe it will improve tomorrow (sure) :x

Nah, there was no rain this morning. I mean, I wouldn't have stood in the rain for three and a quarter hours umpiring my son's cricket match at Terrey Hills, now would I?

Better you than me Peril. Cold and rainy is pretty unpleasant. Standing in cold and rainy is even worse.

At least I had some spare time to work on the yak. Beginning to rig an anchor system up on.
