Red, in calm conditions, there wouldn't be much between them. Throw in some wind chop or swell and there would be a huge difference in the Prowlers favour. It all comes down to what conditions you will be paddling in.

Several of us kayak together, creeks, river and ocean. One of the guys has a Prowler 13 and swears that he has difficulty keeping up with the two Espri guys, especially offshore. We all seem to be pretty much the same build, are all around 60 years old and reasonably fit. He is a newby to kayaking, but so are we all. Having said that, I always admire the lines and space of the Prowler when he comes out with us. FWIW.

Have you guys tried the Hobie Quest? I've never paddled a Prowler or Espri and curious on the feed back.
