Like many I have got the cut down SuperCheap trolley ready for completion as a cart, but intend utilizing the scuppers on the Swing [a la hobie] and need advice from users of that style of cart

When inserted through scuppers how far do the bars protrude above the scuppers inside the boat?

After looking at the Hobie site they show attaching cart with boat on side, so no problem there and will drop out at waters edge.

However on return ashore does the yak have to be emptied of gear to lay on side, or can the cart be inserted from under the yak while afloat and still loaded

Richo, today on the test paddle we just walked the yak into the water with cart attached until such depth was reached that it came out, however we did tip it to one side just a little.

When I returned to shore i just went to the depth where the cart would fit under and again tilted so as I could find the sockets to insert the cart into the scuppers. Then simply walked out with the wheels attached.

Great system. you've got to luv it.

The cart uprights protrude roughly 30mm.

Hope this helps :D

Cheers

Definitely go stainless as it's corrosion proof, extremely strong, yet very light as well. The best accessory I have bought for the yak bar none, and at $130 worth every cent.
Thanks mate but I already have a cut down trolley [10 days ago] planning on another method of attaching when the scupper mod idea happened, normally I can launch within 20m of the van and will still carry the yaks, and only use a cart when at awkward locations

Not worried about rust as I think it will outlast me  if I do go for a better more practical one I'll get headman to weld one up in aluminium as I already have golf buggy wheels from another past brainstorm not used
