Canberra - Lake Burley Griffin 22/10/06

Step Brother was in town, saying goodbye before he is transferred to Townsville to another barracks ( Army ), so what better excuse to go for a yak :)

Not much around although he pulled a small Redfin with a smaller Killalure Pakrat on a cast while i was untangling my lure from my rudder system <sigh> :?

As long as someone catches fish im a happy yakker :p

Trolled for awhile but fish were shutdown, unfortunately no afternoon action for me today so will have to wait for next weekend. Hopefully soon i can do a report from a local Dam, im itching pretty hard to get out to Googong... maybe we can drag Red Pheonix along 8)

Ps - bought some old 'Iron Maiden' cd's, amps me up so much lol

Paffoh, were you able to untangle you line from rudder while on the water? I once had line around my skeg and had to return to shore  . Nice pics of the lake. Beaut day on the water.

Cheers mate, really an excuse to post photos :)

Yeah ive been using bungee style rod leashes to give myself some confidence when turning my back on my stern, got in the way and bingo, lure wrapped around rudder cords like a spiderweb :(

I got it out, carefully... on the water ( Didnt want to risk a move, the twist and stow rudder system seems fragile enough without me diving around it backwards / upsidedown with a pair of clippers. )

That photo has me jealous as hell paffoh, pity Canberra is known for politicians instead of beautiful lakes with views like that. Sounds and looks like a great way to farewell a good mate. Thanks for sharing.

Love the colours in them Redfin. A sweet little fish.

Unfortunately, due to the change in ownership of this web site and the lack of response by the owners to my requests to remove my email address from all administrative-level notifications and functionality, I have decided to remove my posts on AKFF. Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. If you are desperate for the old content of this particular post, it is available below base64 encoded and bzip2 compressed.
