can u put a hatch on a bas or barra kayak?

Sorry that I cant help you with that question. Im am not familiar with those yaks. Judging by the lack of answers to your question, I think there must be a lot of us in the same boat (yak).
Perhaps you could post piccies of the problem, and we could perhaps offer suggestions. There is bound to be someone on the forum, who is expert in this subject.

They're both sit insides as far as I'm aware.
The Bass is similar to the Perception Minnow (as I recall) and doesn't look to be an option for fitting an after market hatch... certainly not anything sizeable.
I think you'll be in the same position with the Barra.
If your friend wants a sit inside with a dry hatch (sealed bulkhead) area he/she might want to look at something like the Perception 370 Acadia.
