Some of my rockfishing mates hooked up decent trevs this morning so I prepped the yak for midday high tide and fished the legals with a slow trolled/ drifted fresh squid.

Unfortunately the good blue water moved to the illegal fishing zone about 700 metres north just near Julians. Bummer - the birds were working well.

I tried a different tactic and paddled back to the Cape but was met with a suspicious swell and more green water.

All up: One chopper tailor that jumped out of the yak when I tried to put a 7/0 livebait hook through it.

Unfortunately, due to the change in ownership of this web site and the lack of response by the owners to my requests to remove my email address from all administrative-level notifications and functionality, I have decided to remove my posts on AKFF. Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. If you are desperate for the old content of this particular post, it is available below base64 encoded and bzip2 compressed.
