Another pleasant morning at Malaney. Arrived about 7.30am after a healthy McDonalds breakfast. Headed straight for the spot Alex led me to last week. My mate Mark caught two and dropped one bass just off the ramp. (might not take him again)
Caught a couple on hard body lures and then my first bass on a spinnerbait, and to make it better it was out of a stand of old timber. This got me interested and I managed a few more off the lilly pads. Mark had a couple of follows on a surface lure but failed to hook-up. (ok might take him again)
Met up with Kilkenny and Robin, he said he'd caught a couple of 50cm bass near the water tower. He was heading for another set of sticks, so as my time at the dam was running out Mark and I set off to the tower. First drop of a purple spinnerbait near a pylon and I landed a 48cm bass, best yet. And they are really healthy looking. (more so then the McD. breaky)
One more smaller bass on a feral cat and that was it. Mark hooked a couple more on the return to the ramp. Out of the water at about 11.30am. All up we landed and released approx. 17 fish.
Yeah, life is tough.
