hi im john and am 5'10" tall and 125 kg
its been a long time since i last kayaked but would like to get back into it and have started to look around at what is available to use as a fishing kayak
currently i live in melbourne so i would be using it in the bay ,rivers and fresh water lakes

in the near future i intend to move to hervey bay qld where ill use it on places like lentals , local lagoons , rivers around hervey chasing what ever is available
ultimatly id like a electric on it as well and a sounder
i do like eating fish so storage for bait and fish would be handy

i was in ch smith the other day and found that they are dealers for malibu kayaks which the extreme ? was recomended
i know there are plenty to choose from just looking through this forum and would also like to know how to find dealers in melbourne to look at each yak before i deside on what right for me
thanks for your input

Hiya John, have a look under Fishing Trips and check out when the Melb bunch hook up, I'm sure you'd be welcome to try a couple of yaks after a session. You won't find every yak, but it may give ya some ideas about narrowing your search. I'm not trying to discount the Malibu's from your search, just reckon you could start wide and narrow in a bit once you've been in a couple and have a better feel for what your after. DaveyG put up a recent post which was a beaut in terms of what ya may consider when buying a yak. Good luck with it all  :D

Unfortunately, due to the change in ownership of this web site and the lack of response by the owners to my requests to remove my email address from all administrative-level notifications and functionality, I have decided to remove my posts on AKFF. Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. If you are desperate for the old content of this particular post, it is available below base64 encoded and bzip2 compressed.
