Several weeks ago got really concerned for Baz in view of his recent health happenings when a few emails bounced back showing he was not reading them.
Note, Baz and I have had an agreed pact thru the 18 months health problems where I leave him call me when he is well enough rather than pester him all the time.
After the bounced stuff I called him and left a message on his answer machine, and he made no contact for another couple of weeks, then rang and in private told me of his more recent happenings.
The last 10 days things had gone quiet again, so being again concerned called yesterday [Monday] morning and Baz replied during the arvo, and said I could pass on his latest episodes.
Several weeks ago he passed some blood and wound up in hospital for a week with anaemia and required a couple of blood transfusions, but the doctors were puzzled as to cause. [this was during the bounced email time]
They decided let him recover a bit and then start testing to find the problem.
The second phone call from Baz brought me up to date, the period has involved 2 weekly blood testing, and bone marrow sampling all in the hands of a lady specialist [horny old prick].
She has concluded there he has an unknown bug that triggers the red corpuscles to fight one another, instead of fighting the infection.
In recent weeks he has been unable to walk further than 20m without being out of breath and life has been a bit of a bastard, he has been able to do all the shopping etc but only in short bursts.
Talking to Baz he sounds bright and remains positive but still has a long haul ahead until he bests this bug, has resumed his interest in archery and R/c model aircraft.
You Sydney blokes could probably mention his situation privately to his regular mates if in contact, but will leave it off the open forum at this time till Baz bounces back.
Any replies for Baz are possibly best put here as he is not spending to much time on the forum at present, and I did say I would post this in Legends.
Note this is all from memory but feel it very close to the mark.
