Several weeks ago got really concerned for Baz in view of his recent health happenings when a few emails bounced back showing he was not reading them.

Note, Baz and I have had an agreed pact thru the 18 months health problems where I leave him call me when he is well enough rather than pester him all the time.

After the bounced stuff I called him and left a message on his answer machine, and he made no contact for another couple of weeks, then rang and in private told me of his more recent happenings.

The last 10 days things had gone quiet again, so being again concerned called yesterday [Monday] morning and Baz replied during the arvo, and said I could pass on his latest episodes.

Several weeks ago he passed some blood and wound up in hospital for a week with anaemia and required a couple of blood transfusions, but the doctors were puzzled as to cause. [this was during the bounced email time]

They decided let him recover a bit and then start testing to find the problem.

The second phone call from Baz brought me up to date, the period has involved 2 weekly blood testing, and bone marrow sampling all in the hands of a lady specialist [horny old prick].

She has concluded there he has an unknown bug that triggers the red corpuscles to fight one another, instead of fighting the infection.

In recent weeks he has been unable to walk further than 20m without being out of breath and life has been a bit of a bastard, he has been able to do all the shopping etc but only in short bursts.

Talking to Baz he sounds bright and remains positive but still has a long haul ahead until he bests this bug, has resumed his interest in archery and R/c model aircraft.

You Sydney blokes could probably mention his situation privately to his regular mates if in contact, but will leave it off the open forum at this time till Baz bounces back.

Any replies for Baz are possibly best put here as he is not spending to much time on the forum at present, and I did say I would post this in Legends.

Note this is all from memory but feel it very close to the mark.

Thanks for the update Dodge.

Bazz if you tune in mate, I'm sorry to hear you are still being put through the ringer.
If you want a bit of company for a cup of tea, please let me know, myself and Red (my dog, not the other one) are keen to bring over a packet of biscuits, and some milk, and some tea even.
If you really feel like blowing out the cobwebs then I know a couple of the other guys would be keen to swing by too.
No pressure, but if you feel like some company we are hear for you.

Ta Richo.. good news (in a way) that the problem is viral rather than something nastier.
The feeling may be the same in the short term, but longer term prospects are a whole lot nicer.

Just pleased to receive a phone call from Baz who has been a concern for last few weeks being totally quiet in all things on both internet and phone.

With the approval of Baz a brief summary.

Had stacks of blood tests and a bone marrow check, and have found he does not have the bug that led to his blood loss and the week in hospital some weeks ago, however it could return anytime in the future and may lead to his demise in the worst case scenario.

Still popping much medication, and sleep patterns are all awry, and does not get full clearance for the problem he had with the crab for about another 4 years.

He is walking a bit as of a couple of days ago, but future kayaking and archery are looking bleak and those activities may have now passed.

The computer and forum are not often looked at these days either so he is much in the dark on activities her now.

Still cheery as much as can be expected, but bubbly outgoing Baz is now at rest, as is this post.

Dave will certainly pass that on when next we talk.
