Headed out to the Torrens island creek and the creeks on the east side of Barker inlet on Sunday.
Was a sensational session, with calm conditions all morning and a light breeze in the arvo. I lost count of the number of bream I caught but they were really firing. Most were 28-32 cm with quite a few bigger then that, with the biggest for the day a whopping 42cm and he was in great condition. Got some pictures on the film camera and will post them when I eventually get them developed (up to 18 on a 36 role of film…..all of bream).
I fished with HB’s and various plastics, but again all the damage was done with bloodworm wrigglers on light jig heads cast deep in the snags. The small bream up to the low 30’s were everywhere, but to get the really good ones, snag city was the go.
I went back to the snag I pulled the 42cm bream from, about an hour later and had another cast………………bang…………….another thumper was on. Put up a really good fight and from the look I got it was about 40cm…….but the hook pulled just as I had him beat and away from the snag. Cant win em all…………..
