Headed off for an hour or so on the water again this morning from Balmoral.

Had done OK on Friday morning with 2 tailor a touch over 40cm and a couple of choppers. No such luck this morning. Was on the water by 05:00 good showings of fish on the FF off the end of the Naval Wharf but no takers, tried a couple of troll passes and then SP's, just a few tentative plucks on the SP's.

Trolled a Rapala deep diver and a Frenzy shad out past Middle Head and around the green channel marker off the head. 2 Pike on the Frenzy. On the way back in saw a guy getting squid close in at Middle Head. Trolled back to Balmoral beach for one small chopper on the Frenzy as I was going through the moorings.

Saw the sun come over the horizon - priceless. Am travelling for the rest of the week for work so I didnt mind the 04:00 alarm to get out this morning.

Red,

Checked the online Rapala catalogue, the HB is a freshwater Down Deep Husky Jerk 4" in silver. I bought a couple at Chatswood Bait and Tackle in Sydney and thought they were reasonably priced at about $15 (compared to the CD's that is). Ecogear SX's run for about the same price or more don't they?

I travel to the US on a regular basis and normally pick up CD 14's and 18's for around about US$10 a piece in stores near to the office but the colour selection isnt brilliant. Which would be about 50% of the shelf price in Australia. Haven't figured out why lures cost so much here.

I did find X-Rap Mag 30's in Noosa for around $15 earlier this year and bought one, they must have been mispriced, can't bring myself to use it now, looks too good and is that large I have serious misgivings about tangling with anything that would consider it to be a food item.

The only other bargains I have managed to find recently were a couple of sizes of Trollcraft Pelagics in a bargain box at Fish Outta Water in Brookvale for $5 each. Stocked up on "prism" pattern ones about 3" and 5" long swim well and the harbour tailor dont seem to be put off by them
