Hi everyone,
Flew in last night. Bali has changed a lot since the last two years Ive been away. Tourism is noticably down and security is noticably up. Heading down to the islands in a week or so to do some KF, might even get some in Bali while Im here. Look foward to posting some exciting trip reports.
Selamat Hormat

I reckon on a kayak in the middle of the Ocean is about the safest place you could be in Bali Breambo.

That is of course if the sharks and the pirates dont get ya

Good luck with the trip mate :)

Hi breambo,

The threat is real. With all the extra security and the Indonesians and Balinese working with us on this issue the chance are slim.

Kick back and enjoy your stay. As already mentioned we want pics!!!

I hope to go there eventually so I would be keen to know how you go about organising a KF over there.

Have fun and raise a cold one for all of us here at home :D.

Cheers,

Milan

Hi Breambo,
I dont think Kayaking has taken off in Bali yet but there is definately some great territory for it, in fact I dont think I've ever seen a tourist fishing in Bali. I know some areas where Diving is popular there are protection zones with no fishing within 500 or so metres of the shore. I was in Bali a few months ago and felt quite safe. I think the real danger is in places like Kuta and Legion, best bet is to hire a motorbike for about $5 a day and head North. There is some amazing scenery, beautiful beaches, and excellent people out of the major tourist areas where you dont get harassed by hawkers and the locals will do anything to assist you.
Enjoy the holiday.
