Finally onboard a yak. What a way to travel! I have learned lots from this forum - helped me narrow my choice down to a Malibu X-factor (with Gator-seat) versus the Hobie Tandem. After trialling the Hobie I was sold.
Loved light-line lure-fishing for brown trout in thin, fast, tough waters in Victoria - but now in Perth, WA and trout are 100's of K's away & the rivers rather sad looking in summer.
Been keeping the fishing bug under control wade-fishing for bream & flathead in the Swan on HB's - SB's get chewed in no time by blowies.
Been out in the Hobie in the Swan a half dozen times and have caught herring & tailor trolling a Rapala - no flathead or bream yet.
Already had magic moments with dolphins and a seal-lion so far. Stealing-up for a shot at the ocean when the winds are low.
Looking forward to contributing when I get my skill levels up.
