Hi

I'm Tring to Rig up an Anchor pulley to my Yac, I'm thinking of setting it up so it goes to the back only.

Questions...

Is there any need to have the anchor to the front of the yac ?
If the Anchor is up the front the yac will be sitting backwards to the current (Fishing line will be running out behind you)

Can anyone see a problem with the way i Have it set up?
The way it is now i don't have to drill any holes :D .
(I havent trimed up the rope yet, In Pic.)

Any input would be much appreciated.

Thanks Steve.

Hi the set up I have is similar to yours except I run one up both sides as i find that it allows me more control when positioning the kayak so I can fish more easily. Unlike a lot of people I run a front set up on occasion as I find that if I want to fish with the current apart from drifting this is the only way, I havent lost a fish on the anchor line but I know it will happen. I find this set up useful when fishing the end of rips on beaches or over a rock ledge.

Me again do you have an elasticated cord on your trolley as this helps to stop sudden shocks when the anchor grabs or if things are going wrong

Thanks Guys for the imput.

Thanks Kingfisher. I have got a metal rod molded into the plastic just in front of where the seat clips on, i'll probly tie of on that. (still no need for holes yet :D )

Thanks YakAtak, That does make sence, But If I want to work an SP that way I normaly drift, or i could cast out behind me and let it come back. anyway i'll see how i go with it set up the way it is + adding the elasticated cord. I can allways run it up to the front at a later date If need to.
