Red, the problem with your suggestion is that I found very few nippers. They must be there but all I managed was one very small, one good sized but cut in half by the pump and one too small to pick up.
I anchored up as Ken said, set the half nipper on one line and cast the gulp worms on another. Nipper disappeared without me noticing so I replaced it with the v. small one, which caught a bream, imaginatively estimated at 6cm (might have been 7). Meanwhile got busted off on the sandworm. Leader shredded at the loop - tailor or flathead, probably tailor.
After farewelling Ken I continued my drift, with the only point of note being another hookup, this time a confirmed tailor, with another dusting. Again the 4lb leader was shredded.
Turned out to be a very pleasant day on the water. I left earlier than planned to be home in time for dinner that the kids were cooking for me (a very nice chicken curry, my son has potential).
The sea anchor worked really well. It was a pleasant change being able to drift down the creek casting at the banks despite a stiff breeze at my back. Just got the smallest one that Whitworths had (for up to 15' boats). With my anchor rope having a snap, it is a breeze to swap between anchor and drogue and there is no unnecessary rope lying around.
Good to catch up again Ken. See you on the water soon.
