Advice on steering repairs?

Hi - while out in some rough chop on the weekend, I busted the steering cable on my wilderness systems freedom kayak. The steering cable broke near the footrest and the screw securing the footrest assembly to the hull sheared. First question - where is the best place to buy replacement parts to repair kayaks online? Second question - how easy is it to rethread steering cables? Any tips or tricks for how this is done?
