I thought I’d wait until my week’s competition efforts were over before posting a roundup. Here goes…

Went out from Balmoral at 0600 on Sunday 01/10. Conditions were gorgeous.

I got down to find Lloyd had got up with the lark and was out already. He’d been braining salmon since 0530 round the naval wharf but I was keen to head around to Sow & Pigs, as much for the journey as for the fish. Just as well, as it was a quiet morning, for me at any rate. I trolled a minnow all the way, drifted over the reef with bait and flicked SP’s at all the channel markers for jack. An hour of this and I decided to carry on over to South Head, with a quick stop at Lady Bay to try for a squid (ignoring the other â€Å"delightsâ€

Dave,
I'd be happy to try another Roseville session, or we could try around Castlecrag, 25m+ right off the point. I have a "secret" launch spot that put us right there if you're keen.

I might put the tailor in, if only for evidence of industry.

Definitely up for either. Would be good to try your launch spot at Castlecrag. I take it it is a matter of wheeling the yaks down that path that goes to the point. Let us know when you're thinking of going
