stern light

hi paul here can you help me i have 12v bat and a light for the stern all round but the only problem i have is wirering it with a pull/push switch can any one help me but must have pictures and how to do it please i would like toget one some time today or friday as i am going with friend friday night for kingys and mulloway

Steve I know your trying to help but is there a more simple diagram to follow?

thanks pal a very good diagram cheers for that the light i am using a all clear trailer light what they use for a reversing light but my switch pull /push it has screw each side of switch

In that diagram the switch is represented by the arrow thingy, so put the switch in the wire from positive battery terminal to the light. Just cut that wire & put one end onto the screw on one side & other end to the screw on other side of the switch - so the switch is interrupting that positive wire. Then it should be a case of pull switch button out = power to light, push button in = no power to light. Make sense?
