I'm about to go more upmarket soon for better quality vids.....looking seriously at this: http://www.teds.com.au/jvc-gx-px100
I have the gopros etc I want to avoid the fish eye distortion and get very good res.
No point being a tight arse when shitting is the objective.

Just get a real dslr if you are going away from the action cams.

Not for Video.... IMHO DSLRs are not overly good for video............ as with most things I find that a dedicated video camera will outdo a DSLR...... I have a Canon EOS6D.... so quite a reasonable DSLR, and I personally am not a huge fan of the video function.....If I was shooting a heap of video I'd definitely get a dedicated Video camera.....

But for the kayak fishing etc... go pro will suffice.... although I'd love a new GPS enabled cam.. such as the virb elite or the sony......

Personally I reckon the Virb Elite would be a better option than the shimano, as you can still connect heart rate etc.... but has internal GPS etc...

I wonder how one of the canon G' series cameras with w'proof housing would go for video... they produce awesome stills! Have a great low light lens etc.....
