Gday.

I lost my antenna on my icom radio and took it out without it a couple times not thinking it was a major seal.. anyway she got a bit of water in it and I have since dried it out but it just keeps flashing. . Have tried the quake function and its been sitting in rice all week. Where is the water sensor located so I can give it a clean out?

I pulled it apart again and noticed a bit of saltwater corrosion on the pcb so I have given it a bit of a wipe with some isocol, hope it recovers

Success! I rubbed away a bit of corrosion and squirted some isocol over the speaker grill and let it dry in front of the fan and the unit is working without the led flashing

Well after battling with it for a couple of months, the saltwater corrosion was pretty bad inside in a few places, I got flipped over and lost my aerial out on the water and it never really recovered from the ingress.

In its final weeks it would send no problems but wouldn't receive, I took it in and got a warranty which took about 6 weeks, was pretty stoked to receive a warranty at all but I kept quiet about the circumstances and it was all good.

Good to have these radios even if it is just for a bit of shit talking.
