That's bullshit I payed $379.00 for the Airmar B150M Bronze thru hull unit and you get one free, :(
Make a bracket to mount the Traducer over the side of the yak, The Chirp is Awesome  It will blow you away by what you can see under the yak :D

Yeah, I was lucky to come across it. They sent me the wrong cable at first but they sorted it out quickly.

Good idea about the bracket, I think I'll give that a go.

Hey I'm looking at this.. But question is.. I know the unit comes with chirp which is amazing and downvu, but does the transducer work with downvu?
And does the b150m work with both chirp and downvu?

The B150 is Chirp only unless things have changed.
The 557xs comes std with the 500 watt transducer and the chirp is extra
As far as I know the 557xs dose not have down scan, or view [downvu] options

ive been looking at Garmins for my next sounder
i could be wrong but the model has changed and the new gpsmap 500xs has a 1kw transducer with built in downvu.
im actually looking at their new echomap 70dv touch screen as i like how easy they are to use and only $300 more
