Welcome everyone to the seventh of this year's monthly online fishing competitions. We're on the home stretch now, and it's shaping up to be a closely fought race to December on the leaderboard.

Other Comments (optional):Pretty quiet in close atm, no big ones landed (should have seen the one that got away), but got few: tailor, bonito, trevs... and a shark.

Tackle/Line/Lure Used: 8lb, 2-4kg bream rod, SX48
Conditions (optional): Fairly pleasant by the time the fish showed up
Other Comments (optional): Nothing but a stinky pike to show for the first three hours on the water . Just as i was about to give up, a school of salmon busted up the surface just off Nth Head, and chased the school around with two other boats for 4 fish all around the same size. Two were gill hooked and bleeding pretty badly so converted into a delicious red curry with pumpkin and basil. Delicious. Both fish were jam packed full of tiny little eyes, which explains why they ignored just about all offerings until i switched to my downsized bream rig and lure.

Also had a minor mishap on the water when my mirage cable slipped off and i lost all power... thnk goodness i was carrying a 7/16 spanner and could fix it as the westerly wind slowly pushed my out towards NZ.

Conditions : Windy as ! wind warnings on the bays
Other Comments :its not a monster but at least its better than a TOW - got out 3 days over the fish comp period for this fish
and it was the only leagle fish caught

Tackle/Line/Lure Used: 15lb Braid and leader with Whole pillie as bait.
Comments: Chilly windy morning made a little more comfortable by the fact that the wind was on our backs.

Looks like another TOW for me, who knew having a new born would cut down fishing time to zero .

Maybe next month when the little fella and the wife start getting some sleep I will be able to sneek away.
