Scarby has zillions of them.
Anyone who has fished it exstentisvly has probably hooked up on one. It's game over...they're very powerful. You try for ahwile to get back your precious jighead, leader and SP, but it is game over.

Very true Trev... lost some of my best lures to those big sods... one got so pissed with my efforts to get close and personal that it came up under my kayak... scared the living crapper out of me. I was very lucky not to go arse-over.
I snipped the line right smartly after that, and wished I'd done it before that instead.
There are beach spots on the Peninsula where they come on the beach and lay their eggs... I previously thought that they only did it up North, but I've actually seen it myself... not the actual happening, but the unmistakable drag-marks on the beach where the old girl had dragged herself up the beach, the upturned spot where the eggs were laid and covered up, and where she'd crawled back to the water.
Two days later, the council had some repair work to do on the beach, and guess what spot they picked to do that work? Right where the old girl had laboured for a while.
Apparently the main beach at Scarby is not where they do it regularly, and where they do it frequently is not advertised, as there are some that would rob the site of the eggs.
