remember that the hub gets very busy around schoolies time.
most queensland teenagers dont want to go to the gold coast and seem to be travelling in droves of buses to the hub to camp on the banks of LBG and savour the atmosphere that is our nations fine capital.
indeed the gold coast is nearly deserted over christmas as many more families head down to "wander the halls of the old parliament house" with some strange old croc farmer from darwin who runs guided tours. you may even get to sit in on a session of parliament though tickets are harder to get than to a one direction concert.
add the masses of fans camped outside the lodge waiting for a glimpse of our first lady.(red hair to match the capitals prize fish the redfin)
and the place is indeed a hub of activity.
possible drawbacks of the hub would also include your yak loosening on the roofracks as you negotiate the occassional roundabout.
also the hub is home to a fine manufacturing and mining sector . this powers our economy and the taxes paid by these industries (the hub super profits tax) enable other cities in qld to enjoy such things as wonderful art galleries, war museums and national libraries.
the citizens of the hub then bath to remove the sweat and grime from their hard daily toil which has caused some silting problem in LBG.though it is possible this murkiness is due to ink, who knows?
i would head to darwin , brother wah will be able to direct you. ET" grooyte island as a waiter looks pretty good.
