Kayak Storage questions

Postby Sharky » Sat Apr 14, 2012 5:24 pm

Hi Folks,
Now that I have gone out and laid a heap of money down on my brand new prowler I don't want to ruin it by something I do through incorrect storage. I don't have anywhere to hang it. So if it has to sit on the carport floor will it deform it at all? Should it be on old tyres or something? Also does the afternoon sun hurt it if it hits it? What is the Ocean Kayak made of? polyethylene? does it stand up to sun. ?

Thanks
JIMMY

Jimmy mine lived like this for a couple of years with no problems in the open, they just sat on 2 blocks of 4x4 timber with a bit of carpet on top, and threw some shade cloth on top of them in summer, no loss of colour or distortion on either kayak.

Main thing is leave your bungs loose to let any internal hot air escape
