I am heading up to Port Hughes with my AI in 2 weeks for the end of the month'
Having never fished the area from a kayak I was wondering if any one has any tips that I can try.
The amount of time fishing depends a lot on the weather. If the weather is not kind there is always fishing off the jetty and the sand flats to the north towards Moonta looks interesting.

met wallarooyak and went to Bird Island, we didn't catch much though. Trolled for one small snook 42 cms and a lovely 38cm salmon before we came in because of the wind

Yeah she was a bit windy that weekend. I fish there often. Been a while since I was in a yak though. Caught a heap of snapper in 3-5 m of water though, only about 500m from shore too.
