The AKFF DIY Comp has come to a close with a number of innovative and inspiring entries crossing the eyes of the AKFF Thought Thinking committee. Thank you for your entries and nominations, but in this case there can only be one winner of the Shimano Sienna 4000FD. Of the entries received there were some real contenders but we had to take into account many factors like innovation, ease of build, adaptability to a variety of yaks, drill holes, materials used, function, cost, initial date of the first post and practical application. In addition, a couple of nominations like Bazzoo's sail and Sunshiner's basket were canned because no link was provided for us to better understand the fundamental operating processes of those devices.
The Winner of the AKFF DIT Comp is:
Please stand up and accept your prize. It was decided that your Kingfisher rear well cover is the duck's guts. The reason we chose yours over all the other fine entries is based on the following reasons: It is a building job within the realm of many yakkers, it can be adapted to a bunch of different brands, the device is capable of performing multiple functions; it was made recently and sports advancements like a hinge system, foam insulation and rod holders not seen recently; It uses cheap, commonly available materials that are easy to work with and boasts an endless range of practical yak fishing applications.
Congratulations Lapse on a fine effort.
