Tooms Lake WE of 28/29 Aug

Kanganoe is heading to Tas on 28/8 with his yak. We're thinking of going to Tooms lake. Probably either an overnighter of 28th/29th or just the Sunday 29th.

This would be great opportunity to try Tooms lake out. It has been brought back from the brink of the drought years by the last couple of wet winters and some good stocking efforts by IFS. I've never fished it before but from what I have heard it is a good place to be in the early season and it has recovered well due to the good rains we've had. It was spilling recently so the fish should have fattened up on worms.

So anyone else interested in a trip out East?

Craig

I should be working that weekend but i can get someone to cover for me on the Sunday so i am good for Sunday. Hopefully Dave can make it but he had one of his rare weekends off last weekend so I don't know. I will ask him however.

I may have to drop out. I bought a new dog today and I think that will be my only chance to go North to pick him up. I'll let you guys know either way.

Tooms Lake will probably be 10 degrees warmer than Arthurs. Still cold, but not much chance of snow and frozen surface water.

When I booked the boat the other day I could only come a day early so i am planning on a fish on friday arvo and maybe a dawn patrol on Sat morning at tooms. When you get there I should have a 5 pounder sizzling on the grill for breakfast with a pot of coffee ready and then round 2.Probably pull the pin on sunday midday and head for hobart .Got a couple days there so if anyone wants to have a n early one on the derwent that would be good too.I see hobart,s maximum is higher than adelaides for tomorrow but we dont care about the cold do we? See you soon.Russell.

You could always stop in at Lake Leake for a look on Friday if you have time. Or fish one of the rivers such as the Macquarie.

Would love to have joined in on Kanganoes visit but have a mate visiting from the mainland this weekend, with his girl in tow, unlikely kayak fishing candidates... tight lines, look forward to seeing some action from you blokes.
Fish on!

It's a no go for me now. Kanganoe is there today and will be in Hobart tomorrow. So I'm thinking I might have to find some sea runners instead.
