My tempo is finally here and of course it arrives on my first day back at work after christmas. yay
first thing to make is a trolley so i can move it around. some old pram wheels and a bit of 25mm and 20mm galv steel electrical conduit and the compulsary pool noodle and i have a trolley.
now this kayak has 2 purposes, fishing and family fun (my two boys fit in the front and back) so everything needs to be able to come out quickly and easily.
mount my berkley rod holders & got a sistema 2 compartment box with some chopping board stuck to the lid for a bait board.
this will have elastic over the top when i get some more cleats to hold it down. i may have to turn the rod holder bases up the other way as yet as they are close to intefering with paddling. cant really ssay until it hits the water.
next is some rocket launchers and a box. I made a 20mm electrical conduit thing up so it locks into the scupper holes and i have a piece of elastic across the front to hold it down.
rocket launchers are a cut down alloy bullbar rod mount i had in the shed from years ago.
also popped a rod leash from an old boogey board that was floating around in the shed.
also made a side mount roof loader for the rola roof racks on my patrol which has been a challenge as it has a lift and big tyres so the roof is very high to say the least.
more photos to come
the list of things to do is:
make moulded hard cover for the front well from fibreglass for my bait/fish bin and when i go camping with it.
I have also autocadded up a outboard/rudder pedal system which i can get Laser cut & CNC machined from black nylon.
if anyone is interested i maybe will be able to supply drawings and a file for a profile cutter to make your own.
but first i want to put it in the water and give it a go! Glenelg river here I come!
