And the results are in...

Firstly, a huge thanks to Davo's Bait & Tackle for their support of this comp. Some awesome fish reported this month - highlights being 3 Hall of Fame fish (Safa and his jewfish, Chrissy and his snapper, and Craig450 and his stonker yellowfin bream). 4 mods also reported fish, the big news being Mr Davey G breaking his (almost) year long hoodoo of donuts, and clinching himself a fiesty 80cm kingie in a pre-work session.

This months top fish are:

1st - Safa with his 137cm jewfish - 100 points plus 30 points HOF 1st place
2nd - Chrissy with a 90cm snapper - 90 points plus 20 points HOF 2nd place
3rd - Craig450 with a 42.5cm yellowfin bream - 80 points plus 10 points HOF 3rd place
4th - Sunshiner with a 91cm cobia - 70 points
5th - Paff with a 66cm Murray Cod - 60 points plus 'hard man' points for sleeping in his car and freezing his butt off!
6th - RedPhoenix with a 40cm Mangrove Jack - 50 points

All other entered fish earned 30 points, and the two tales of woe get a 10 point consolation prize.

Mystery prize winners for the month are Chrissy, Davey G, and Sunshiner. Congrats guys, PM me your full name and address, and we'll send you a little something from the sock drawer. (Davey - yes you still need to post it!)

And the winners of the fishing comp for the year are... (drum roll please...)

1st - T-Curve, with 710 points
2nd - SBD, with 580 points
3rd - Are-we-there-yet, with 570 points.

Well done guys! You all deserve a medal for the consistency of your efforts. This isn't a comp where one big fish will win it for you, you really need to be out every month chasing. Please PM me your full names and addresses, and we'll also get you a little something out!

And finally, a huge thank you to all the entrants for their efforts this year. I've really enjoyed running and judging the contest, and I look forward to seeing it back bigger and better next year.

The final ladder was:

TCURVE 710
SBD 580

Well done yakkers - but T-curve if you win to many more comps you are looking at a paddle from below, Magnificent fish from a growing bunch of hard core fishers.

a BIG THANKS to Ant and Gatesy and all the rest of the mods who helped keep this comp running. :D

Congratulations Tcurve on soundly winning the comp, pity Breambo didnt hang around to give you a bit more of a challenge.

The comp was a great bit of fun each month.

More magnificent fish entered this month, congrats Safa on your big motha, Paff I'd've given you more for that cod ;-) .

Congrats to T-curve for taking out the year's honours - you always had an answer, a well deserved victory. Congrats to AWTY & thanks for graciously catching a mere 72cm snapper this month ;-) . Thanks to AKFF, in particular the tireless mods & that execrable expat exmod Gatesy, and a big thanks to Davo's Bait & Tackle for supporting the comp. It's been fun, lets do it all again next year.

Ever the bridesmaid...

Nice one Adrian - congrats!
Close call though; I thought David had a real chance of catching you there for a bit. If Sydney had a few less windy days over the course of the last few months, perhaps.

I won't mention that Paul bloke at all. He keeps stealing my snapper before they have a chance to migrate down to coochie. ;)

Great comp Leftie - well done on running it, and keeping participants on their toes. Look forward to next year!

Thanks to the mods/admin for giving us all the opportunity to participate in such a fun competition.
Well done to T-curve, SBD, and Are-we-there-yet, you guys had some great fish entered during the year so its no suprise to me to see the 3 of you at the top of the ladder.
Im absoloutely stoked i managed 4th place, although to be fair it should have been 5th, if Breambo had finished comp instead of going o/s but im happy either way.
Well done to everyone that participated thru the year, some awesome fish were posted, looking forward to the next comp.
