do you have colour or mono chrome??? not that it think it would make much difference,,,,,
i will send you my settings no probs,,,,My Kayak is at my workshop I will check them tomorrow,,,
Mind you I feel i have the settings pretty close,, they may just need a little more minor adjusting ( and me being used to a "normal" 2D fishfinder,, the fish show up a little different)
i fish in salt water normally in 2-9 mtres deep

My ELITE 4 COLOUR DSI SETTINGS

BRIGHTNESS-9
RANGE- auto
FREQ- 800kHz
COLOUR- orange
SURFACE CLARITY- medium
NOISE REJECTION-on
CONTRAST- 36% (this is an important setting on a DSI unit, because there is no gain adustment,,Im sure 36% is close )
These settings should get you into the ball park,,,, but you may need to adjust yours a little depending on your fishing conditions

Hi, nice work. I've got the same "chinese shitter" in a different shade of shit and I'm shortly going to buy the elite dsi so I'll prob be copying your set up

Question; is the screen unit removable or is that the bracket they ship with just mounted straight in? also how is the transducer handling under the yak? No damage?

Yes you can remove the head unit from the mount,,,, the transducer is tucked away in the channel,,, I doubt it will ever get touched there,, maybe a few scratches,, but I doubt it,,,, But it is THE BEST PLACE TO MOUNT IT,,, for clarity of picture,,, its as perfect as that sounder is going to show,,, The chinese shitter works just as good as any other yak out there (obviously exept the ones with pedals and stuff) I have fished standing up in it,,, but it takes practice!!!!!
