It seems every one has a reason for the colour they chose I went with the Dune (wet cement) colour mainly because when you get a scratch or 100 they dont show up 1/2 as much as other colours

YAHOOOOO !!!!! I picked mine up this morning and headed straight to the river, awesome piece of kit.
It turns on a 2 bob piece compared to my Adventure, the seat is VERY comfortable and it seems to be no harder to pedal than my old Oasis was with one person in it. Loading it you notice that it's a little heavier lifting onto the back of the ute, but it's no big deal.
I bought it with the intention of doing 2-3 day camping/fishing trips. I think I've bought the right piece of equipment for the job.

The guys at Sunstate Hobie said that it's currently underway in the US, apparently they'll be hitting the shelves mid to late next year.

Its like any innovation/new feature for a particular brand. They bring it out on one model. Assuming the feedback is positive they'll extend it to others where possible to use as a marketing point. I imagine by 2014 the Outbacks/Revos/Adventures etc etc... will come with the lowrance ready transducer scupper mount too.

How hard is it to drag this thing maybe twenty metres to the water? Is the cart essential?

Currently I have an Outback and it will be interesting to see how much of an issue the extra weight is for my (rapidly) aging body.

For the love of god get the cart!!! Mine weighs a tone once I load it up with gear, would be impossible to drag it anywhere without it. Your local dealer will usually throw the cart in to sweeten the deal anyway.

Not going to happen. You won't be dragging a PA anywhere. It is far too heavy. Put it into perspective. If you're serious about outlaying $3,500 on a kayak, why would you not take all reasonable steps to mitigate any unnecessary damage which could occur through careless portage. Besides, if you purchase new, you may be able to get a good deal if you purchase the trolley with the kayak as a package.

On a trolley, the weight difference is noticeable, but not enough for it to be a deal breaker. Despite the weight, I find the PA easier to load than my previous Revo due to the hull shape being squarer at the back.

I load the Outback on to a trailer which has a frame above the hinged box. I can lift the Outback easily enough to get the bow onto the frame but am always afraid of it tipping until I get more of it lifted. I reckon the PA might be easier because of its shape. In addition, I don't have to roll it over once on the trailer bars as I am told to transport it on its hull rather than gunwales.

I'll see what sort of deal Binks Marine here in Adelaide will do. (Need to sell the Outback first, though.)

I bought one a few weeks ago from hobie in brisbane and hey include a cart in the price. If they don't offer it ask for a deal and see what happens
