[edit] Scott, it's hopeless. Just sign up for the 575 now. I'll pm for a good deal on the hopeless and badly out of date 550. ;-)

Horses for courses Scott, I love your black 550 and my revo and dru's zegul and just about all the yaks I see on this forum to be honest. After all it's not how long it is it's how you use it right? I'm certainly going to need a fitness boost and some paddling lessons to be even remotely competent but I'm SO looking forward to it!

Took one for a short paddle this morning and they are a sexy bit of kit 8) . I was suprised at how far they will glide when you stop paddling. Turning on them was pretty good to for a long ski.

Russell is the first Aussie to own one of these. He took Delivery at the creek, enjoyed it so much that he joined us at Palmy the next day.

I agree that the Stealth guys are bastards and for the same reason.

Sexy piece of gear for sure..

But I wonder just how fishable a 5.75metre yak is? I've tried fishing out of a 5.5m yak and I really struggled getting a 7ft rod around the bow. Really became a pain when Mr.fishy wanted to go in the opposite direction.

You just stick the rod in the water and either drag him back or the kayak round :D

Eth, it's a valid thought. Strangely enough I don't recall any probs. I do get caught occasionally on the Zegul. One line of thinking with yak rods is to be short. I don't hold to this. My rods are all close to 7' long. Maybe that makes the difference.

It would save about 3kgs on the normal weight. That is so sexy
