Lake mac was very much like Pittwater, bloody awful. Kevy, me and Scotty B. I had a double donut :( Kev got 1 and Scotty got 3. It was cold clear and calm and the fish weren't biting in the shallows were I was fishing. The guys out deep had to be lucky to find the schools and pull a few out before they lost them again.

Thats fishing otherwise we would call it catching

Cheers Dave

Pittwater sucks!

Very tough day, Ronnie did awesome to pull that bag - he was obviously doing something right. I pedalled close to 6km down stream to where I thought there would be some winter schools in deeper water, turns out there was just one lonely 22cm bream, a wrasse & a pinky that was barely bigger than the blade it hit. I fished 2lb all day and landed the only fish that had a proper go at the lure, 3 fish in 7hrs, they were really shut down. Jase mentioned that the only boat to pull a full bag inside Pittwater took over 100km to do it so they worked hard.

Bad luck about Lake Mac, doesn't sound like it was much better.

well done ronnie on the full bag.

the fishing was very tough. managed a small brean in the first 5 mins and thought i would have a great day. but in the 7 hours of fishing only manged that one small bream, a travally 37cm and a million small pinkies all caught on blades. it was my first time really working a blade for long periods of time and i guess am happy that i managing to consistantly catch fish even if they were only little pinkies some of them still put up a good fight on light gear.

Well done Ronnie ,Congrats on your win mate ,well deserved.
I dont know where you found those 3 bream , i looked everywhere( obviously not where you looked ) all i could muster was a couple of small pinkies around the moored boats, unfortunately the boats has some of the cleanest hulls ive seen in years. was a hard days fishing with many kms of travel but it was a sunny day & heaps of fun. A weel run event by all in charge.
Cheers

Beautiful place, but very frustrating.
I hooked 1 nice bream, probably mid 30's from the western side of Scotland island, but dropped him a metre or so from the yak, then didnt see another bream all day.
Small pinkies and a good flattie was all i landed.
I left for home with my tail between my legs and a severe case of boat envy :(
