I'm out as well. Maybe make it to the July round, but looking more like the Tuross round in August will be my next one.

I'm not fishing it but have been keeping an eye on the weather forecast and it doesn't look too crash hot for this round of the SSBS :( I just had a look on the Basin lure and fly site and there is a thread on this round advising all competitors to watch the site for updates over the next 48 hours. You can find the thread here: http://www.basinlureandfly.org.au/forum ... f=8&t=1214

Apparently there is a gale warning procedure (comp is cancelled in the event of a gale warning) - there is currently a severe weather warning in place for the South Coast and Illawarra on Sunday which forecasts an average wind speed of 65km/h

Current warning details here: http://www.bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/wrap_fwo.pl?IDN28500.html

Current South Coast forecast here: http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/forecasts/southeast.shtml#SC

I'd urge everyone intending on competing to keep an eye on Basin lure and Fly over the next 24h - the website states that a decision on the status of the comp will be made no later than 6pm Saturday evening.

A bit of an improvement on the weather forecast, so it looks as if it might go ahead :D
I will be keeping a close eye on the BLF website and see what happens

Guys,
BLF has cancelled tomorrows SSBS round due to weather.

Copied from Basin lure and fly website:

A gale warning has now been issued at 11.00 from BOM and as such the Shoalhaven Round of the Squidgy Southern Bream Series will be postponed. We will aim to reschedule this event for next weekend at this stage. Stay tuned for further updates.
Credits or refunds are available.

The conflicting reports have made it hard to make this call but your safety will always be our top priority.

I agree it is inland but now reports from some sources of 100kmph plus winds inland deem it to dangerous to run an event.

Hi all,
My apologies to those who travelled down for this round this morning.
As discussed with a few of you we would like to start a log of interested kayakers for future events to ensure that we can text you as we do with the pre-entries. If anyone wishes to be added to the list could I ask you to email basinlureandfly@yahoo.com.au with your name and mobile number. If you can let us know your interest for specific events we won't need to send you a text for postponements for those rounds you are not interested in.
Please also be advised that this round will now be held next Sunday 6th June, 2010. We appreciate that this may not be convenient for some anglers and we apologise for this. However your safety is and will always be our number one priority.
Regards,
Amy
